As Thanksgiving Approaches...

UNDEFEATED!
The Frozen Yettis played their last game against another undefeated team. It was a great game!!
It was tied all the way until the last minute when our team made a quirky goal and won.
It was a harrowing 45 minutes. These boys worked so hard! And the coaches did, too!
Once again Carp AYSO was a blast of an experience.
Thankful for a fantastic community in which we live.

My dinning room table has become a game/arts/crafts center. We hardly eat there anymore.
We are making many of our gifts and Christmas decorations this year. No need to buy much and use what we have an abundance of.... crayons, paints, glue, paper, foam and artistic talent! ;)
Thankful for the time, the ability, the fun in creating pieces of art with Mylie & Ty.

LOVE not having to get up early and rush everyone out the door.
Today we are totally hanging and doing a whole lotta nothin.
Everyone is still in pjs.
This is what happens when Ty doesn't get his way with his dad! ;)
Thankful for playtime.

This was the pumpkin Ty chose out of the gazillion there were at the pumpkin patch.
It looks like a sea creature of sorts with the mouth in the middle and sharp teeth inside.
Little creepy. Just saying....
Nature's intricate design is seriously an incredible inspiring phenomenon.

Beautiful day today, nowhere to go, no one to see, nothing to do.
Thankful for togetherness.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
love you all!

Carp AYSO

This was Ty's second year playing soccer in AYSO. Last year was a great year. We were worried that this year would not be able to top it. But, this year has been even better.
Last year Ty stayed confident playing defense. He defended that ball like no other.
All season only two goals were made past him. His team won every game.
He defends his team like he defends his family. He is a faithful, committed player.
However, this year one of his team's best player was out for a few games and Ty had to step it up.
He knew he had a lot more responsibility to carry the team. He played offense for the first time and made several goals. He got a taste for making goals and really... there is no greater taste in sports.
He was hooked. This year has been great for Ty as he found it in himself to be a well-rounded player. He surprised himself!

His coach this year just wanted the boys to have fun. And fun they had! They played so well together because they were having fun. So far, the Frozen Yetis are undefeated.

Ty dances with the ball. He doesn't like that analogy at all. He says, "I DON'T dance with the ball!!" The boy dances with that ball for sure.
He maneuvers it right through the other players like it's no big deal.

...and the boy charges! He gains momentum, puts his head forward and takes off like the roadrunner.

...and sister watches and loves cheering for brother.

One of my favorite moments was when one Saturday game the other team's best player went down hard and Ty picked him up, brushed the dirt off his back and told him that was an awesome play.
This boy makes his mama proud!!

Down syndrome Awareness is October

This month has been Down syndrome Awareness month. I posted many days on Facebook about all the ways I love Down syndrome. There are so many ways, but I think my favorite is that I don't even see Down syndrome anymore. All I see is Mylie and she is pure peace. God knew exactly what I needed to learn when He gave me Mylie. He wanted me to have PURE PEACE. I am so grateful!

So, while we enjoyed so many of our friends bringing awareness to Down syndrome, this month has also been busy with friends visiting us, getting ready for Fall, and experiencing the joy in Mylie during her first pumpkin patch moment. I remember going with Ty and Joaquin every year. But, Miss Mylie has not gone because of something or other, which made this year so special.

She loved it!

And Ty was so happy to be back again with his sister and his Godbrother...

The maze this year was so much harder than we remember. The boys tried five times to no avail, each time coming back out the entrance. But, those boys don't give up and they made it finally out the exit after about 45 minutes of trying. They were determined! And they succeeded!

This was hysterical. Hay fight! We had hay coming out our noses by the time we got home.
The boys loved this and got so much energy out!
Mylie and I just watched and made sure no one got hurt...

This is probably my favorite picture to date. I love everything about it!
I love these kids with all that I am.
Seeing them love each so just melts my heart as it beams with gratefulness.

Happy Fall! Wishing you all a beautiful start to a beautiful time of year!!

Legoland 2011

It's been a while since I've blogged mostly because we have been so busy... with good stuff, but nonetheless busy. Our busy month of October included a vacation to Legoland with grammy & grampy. Vacations are totally relaxing while ON vacation but preparing and cleaning up after one is not so relaxing. Anyway, it was a ton of laughs and a bunch of fun, not to mention really good food!

Our favorite hotel The Sheraton which is attached to Legoland and a hop skip and jump away...

Mylie loves this game where I bounce her on my legs and then fling her upside down...

This is what makes my heart grow...

This is what makes me somewhat ill...

LOVE this girl~

and because we were celebrating Ty's willingness to patch aggressively... he patched on vacation, too. Amazing kid!

...and huge accomplishment worth mentioning: Ty learned to make bubbles with his gum. Cool huh?
I remember that day as a kid. HUGE accomplishment. Will make hours of life very fun!

 morning snacks...

and of course LEGOS...

I had fun capturing all of us in the mirrors I found around the hotels...

Cracks me up how uninterested Ty looks in this picture. It looks like all of us are thrilled to be at Legoland while he seems to be anywhere else but there. Must of had something REALLY important on his mind... or the pumpkin was just not doing it for him.
Anyway, could have been a cute Christmas card pic...

Good try Daddy...

Probably the best part of Legoland... the mini city all made with little legos...

 and STAR WARS

On to Coronado Hotel where we have lots of great memories.

and then on to Lowe's Hotel...

ahhh... foot up, little breeze...

boys rough-housed in the pool...

girls watched in horror...
jk, we just laughed. Silly boys!

San Diego, you've been good to us. Thanks for all the treats!
